First Reformed Weekly ~ 3/19/2017 (Third Sunday in Lent)

Good afternoon everyone! We had a blessed worship service this morning. We welcomed guest minister, Rev. Frank Ackerman, to the pulpit. Rev. Ackerman is a 1959 graduate of Northwestern Junior College in Orange City, Iowa, and a 1961 graduate of Houghton College in New York. In 1965, he graduated from Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan. Since then, he has served churches in Jersey City, Newark, Paterson and Leeds, New York. He is married to Micheline Ackerman.

His message was "In Christ We Live in Hope", based on Exodus 17 and Romans 5.

Rev. Christopher Wolf will return from his break on Friday, March 24th. If you have any pastoral care needs, please contact Julie Kooistra or Frank Arnone. Christopher's Chat will be back with a new episode on Sunday, March 26th.

First Night Kits

During the month of March and beginning of April, the Sunday School is participating in a community service project by collecting items for First Night Kits, a program run by the non-profit organization, Jersey Cares. For more information and a newly updated inventory list, click HERE.

Envelope of the Month

This month, we highlight the Book of Remembrance envelope. Donations to this fund can be made in memory or honor of a loved one or event. This envelope can also be used along with the forms on the table in the back of the sanctuary for donations for Easter lilies and Easter Book of Remembrance. Donations placed in this envelope are deposited into a separate fund and used for capital improvements for the church.

Donated plants may be picked up after the worship service on Easter. Forms are available on the table in the back of the sanctuary. The form, along with cash or your check, may be placed in the offering plate, mailed to the church, or given to Evelyn Leseberg. The deadline is Sunday, April 9th.
