This Week at First Reformed ~ 10/29/2017

Good afternoon everyone! Today is the 21st Sunday After Pentecost. Pastor Christopher finished his series, "Passing the Torch of Faith". Pastor Christopher invited the congregation to list individuals who have furthered their faith.

Also, October 31st is an important day in the history of Protestantism and the Reformed Church. 500 years ago on that date, Martin Luther initiated the Protestant Reformation by publishing his Ninety-Five Theses.

There will be no new episode of Christopher's Chat this week. Please tune in to our YouTube channel (firstreformedsb1900) next week for a new episode. Also, we invite you to watch our worship services on there as well.

Operation Christmas Child

This year's packing party is scheduled for Sunday, November 12th at 3pm in the Van Wyk Fellowship Hall (accessible from the Saddle River Rd parking lot). We are in need of lots of empty shoe boxes, as we currently have 36 shoe boxes donated (we prefer the ones with separate lids, but we will take any you have!), Christmas wrap, scotch tape, and LARGE rubber bands. We will also be collecting items to fill the boxes including school and hygiene supplies, small toys, stuffed animals, coloring books, puzzles, etc. This year, we are unable to accept donations of toothpaste and candy, as both items delay the customs process. All items MUST be new. Please pick up a shoe box item checklist on the rear table in the Sanctuary, or CLICK HERE to view more information here. CLICK HERE to reply to our Facebook event. If you have any questions, please contact Lynne Wojcik.

Envelope of the Month

This month's highlighted envelope is the Deacon's Fund. The fund is separate from our general fund and is monitored by the Deacons. Money donated using this envelope is prayerfully used to help those in need.

Coffee Hour

Please check the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board outside the upstairs kitchen for Sundays that remain open to host.

Ongoing Clothing Drive We continue to accept bagged or boxed donations of clothing, shoes, accessories, bedding, linens, curtains and towels. All donations may be left outside Pastor Christopher's garage doors in the Ackerman Avenue parking lot anytime.
