Good afternoon everyone! This is the day that the Lord has made.
Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
This week, Rev. Christopher Wolf continued his sermon series about the meaning of church. For some, church=judgment, church=perfection, church=hypocrisy. This week's message was "Church=Love". Christopher's Chat, Pastor Christopher's weekly message, discusses the presence of God's love here at First Reformed:
Last week, we prayed for Dom Pallottie, one of our members who will begin training for the New Jersey National Guard. This morning, we also did a special prayer for Rich Shanahan, who will be leaving for Qatar on January 28th. We give thanks for Rich and his longtime service to our nation. We pray for his safety, protection and blessings in his work. We also give blessings to his wife Kathleen, sons Nolan and Patrick and daughter Alicia. We thank all those who continue to willingly serve our country to protect our freedoms.

Birthday and Anniversary Lists
We are updating our birthday and anniversary lists. Please check out your information on the bulletin board and make any changes/additions/deletions. Thank you.
Vacation Bible School
The first interest meeting was held this past Friday in the Clements' Room. We have chosen "Shipwrecked" by Group Publishing as this year's theme. This theme will teach children how Jesus rescues. However, we are still in great need of leaders and volunteers (leaders especially) to make this year's program a success. If you feel you are called by God to serve as a volunteer or leader, CLICK HERE to fill out our online form or add your name to the sign-up sheet on the hallway bulletin board.
Envelope of the Month
The envelope of the month is your blue Assessment envelope. Our assessment for 2018 is $84.50 per person. As a reminder, the assessment is a fee we must pay to the RCA Classis each year. Any assessment money owed to Classis that is not collected in the blue envelopes must then be drawn from the general fund. Please see any Consistory member with questions.
Giving statements for the second half of 2017 are now available on the back table in the Sanctuary.
Please check the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board outside the upstairs kitchen, and sign up if you are able to host coffee hour.
Ongoing Clothing Drive We continue to accept bagged or boxed donations of clothing, shoes, accessories, bedding, linens, curtains and towels. All donations may be left outside Pastor Christopher's garage doors in the Ackerman Avenue parking lot anytime.
