This Week at First Reformed ~ 9/9/2018

Good afternoon everyone! This is the day that the Lord has made.

Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

This week was Rally Day, which marks the kick-off of another year of Sunday School. The students were dismissed during the service to meet their teachers and classmates. A luncheon also followed downstairs in the Van Wyk Fellowship Hall. Below is this week's Christopher's Chat, where Pastor Christopher did a blessing for the food and fellowship. Also, this week marked the start of a new sermon series, "Welcome Home". This series is based on stories in the Bible in which no matter how far, no matter what's happened, God makes a way and welcomes us home - as we are - in pieces, feeling down, curious, on the run - not to scold us, but to embrace us, and stitch us, families and more back together.

Choir Practice

Choir practice begins Thursday, September 13th at 7:30pm. We invite all singers to come join the choir for another year of worship, music and ministry. No experience is necessary - just an open heart for the Lord and a voice that loves to sing to God's glory. The choir will have an opportunity to sing twice a month and also be a part of the worship team for Sunday morning. Please see Jim Gilbert with any questions.

Pizza/Youth Game Night

We are planning a fun-filled game night here at First Reformed Church on Friday, September 14th at 7pm downstairs in the Van Wyk Fellowship Hall. Pizza and other refreshments will be served! We hope you and your kids can join us for a fun-filled night of games and fellowship! We ask, if possible, that you sign up ahead of time HERE. This sign-up sheet will help us get a better idea of head count to order enough pizza for everyone.

Prayer Cloth Ministry

Have you have placed someone on the prayer list and would like to have a prayer cloth for them? Please contact Kathy Alia or Winnie Caputo. Prayer cloths are also available for special occasions such as baptisms, graduations, confirmations, births, marriages and special anniversaries. For more information on the prayer cloth ministry, click HERE.

Coffee Hour

Please check the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board outside the upstairs kitchen, and sign up if you are able to host coffee hour.

Ongoing Clothing Drive We continue to accept bagged or boxed donations of clothing, shoes, accessories, bedding, linens, curtains and towels. All donations may be left outside Pastor Christopher's garage doors in the Ackerman Avenue parking lot anytime.
