This Week at First Reformed ~ 12/16/2018 (Third Sunday of Advent)
Good afternoon everyone! This is the day that the Lord has made.
Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
This week marked the Third Sunday of Advent as we near the Celebration of Christ's Birth. The first two Advent Candles were lit today. The first candle is the candle of expectation and hope. The second candle is the candle of Peace.
Today's message was "A Change of Plans", based on the Scripture of Matthew 1:18-25 and Proverbs 19:21.
Christopher's Chat returned this week. Please watch below:
OTHER CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS
Christmas Gift
Pastor Christopher and his family are so thankful for the very generous Christmas gift from the congregation.
Outreach Opportunity
We received a Facebook message from a woman who has cancer and no family or church. We invite you to send a Christmas Card as a wonderful way to share the love of Christ. For information on name and address, please call our church office at 201-843-6672.
Christmas Gifts for Family
There is still time to help the area family our church has provided Christmas for the last five years. Gift cards would be appreciated. The children need shoes and clothing.
Christmas Cards
If you would like to leave a Christmas Card for any church member, please drop it off in the box located on the back table in the Sanctuary.
2019 Calendars
2019 calendars are available and are on the back table of the Sanctuary. Please help yourself!
**NEW** Multimedia Team Members
We are still looking for some volunteers to begin a multimedia team. You will utilize some basic skills. No prior experience required. This is a perfect service opportunity to "get your feet wet". Team members will provide a seamless feed of PowerPoint slides that will be projected on the screen for the congregation to view during our services. Team members will serve one Sunday a month. If you are interested, come speak to Jim Gilbert at the piano or drop him an email at jrg@jamesgilbert.us.
Prayer Cloth Ministry

Have you have placed someone on the prayer list and would like to have a prayer cloth for them? Please contact Kathy Alia or Winnie Caputo. Prayer cloths are also available for special occasions such as baptisms, graduations, confirmations, births, marriages and special anniversaries. Coffee Hour
Please check the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board outside the upstairs kitchen, and sign up if you are able to host coffee hour.
