This Week at First Reformed ~ 11/3/2019

Updated: Dec 15, 2019

Good evening everyone! This is the day that the Lord has made.

Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

This week is All Saints Sunday. During worship, we remembered family and friends who were called Home to God.

Also, the Rev. Don McCracken served as guest minister. Rev. McCracken serves as Pastor/Director of The River Mission in Hackensack, Homeless and Community Outreach at the Second Reformed Church in Hackensack. He will be here with us again next Sunday. Elder Kevin Kooistra will lead worship on November 17th.

Please pray for Pastor Christopher's safety and for inspiration as well as for his family. If you have pastoral needs during this time, please contact Elders Kevin Kooistra or Catherine Wasdyke.

Pastor Christopher returns from Israel late on November 8th. He will then take some reflection and recovery time. He is very, very grateful for this precious gift and looks forward to sharing stories, pictures, insights and inspiration with the congregation and community.

Operation Christmas Child

It's almost that time of year again! Our annual Operation Christmas Child packing party is planned for next Sunday, November 10th at 3pm downstairs in the Van Wyk Fellowship Hall. We are in need of donations of shoe boxes and other items for the shoe boxes. If you have any questions, please speak to Lynne Wojcik or Tommy Van Winkle. CLICK HERE to visit our Operation Christmas Child page.

Congregational Meeting

Following worship on Sunday, December 1st, we will be holding a Congregational Meeting in the Sanctuary. At this meeting, we will be nominating Deacons to begin serving in 2020.

Prayer Cloth Ministry

Have you have placed someone on the prayer list and would like to have a prayer cloth for them? Please contact Kathy Alia or Winnie Caputo. Prayer cloths are also available for special occasions such as baptisms, graduations, confirmations, births, marriages and special anniversaries. For more information on the prayer cloth ministry, click HERE.

Ongoing Clothing Drive Our continuing clothing drive will accept bagged donations of clothing, clothing accessories, shoes, bedding, household linens, towels, handbags, wallets, jewelry, and backpacks. All items must be of usable quality. We cannot accept toys, stuffed animals, books, cookware, dishes, curtains, pillows, breakable items or furniture. All donations can be left outside Pastor's garage doors.
