This Week at First Reformed ~ 12/1/2019

Good afternoon everyone! This is the day that the Lord has made.

Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

This week is the First Sunday of Advent. We lit the Candle of Expectation and Hope, the first candle on the Advent Wreath. God makes promises and fulfills them. We light this candle of hope with confidence that its light, as Christ does, overcomes the deepest darkness in this world and in our lives. We light the candle of hope believing that no darkness in this world can extinguish the light of God's promises in Christ.

This year, the candles are being lit by those who have lost loved ones this year. This candle was lit by Michael Coleman.

Pastor Christopher's message was "The One Who Lifts Up My Head", based on scripture from Psalm 3 and Matthew 2:20-21.

Rehearsals are scheduled for the following Thursdays at 7:30pm: December 5, December 12, December 19.

Our Vespers Dinner will follow the play. Donations of desserts are needed for the dinner. If you are attending the dinner, please sign up by clicking the following link to access our online sign-up.
